I have heard today that a mechanic has been killed whilst working on bowling machinery in a centre in the London area. I will give more details when I have them.j.

I'm sure Britain's version of OSHA will be getting involved....mandating unecessary guards and procedures. This would be a shame if it were brought on by ignorance or stupidity by not powering off a pinsetter properly.

Man stuck in bowling machine dies
A man has died after becoming stuck in a 10-pin bowling mechanism.
Police were called to the Hollywood Bowl, in Barking, east London, after the employee's body was found on Thursday evening.

Paramedics were also called but the man, who was from nearby East Ham and thought to be 31-years-old, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have been informed and police have appealed for anyone who was at the venue to come forward.

Officers are also eager to speak with four male youths who were seen at the bowling centre.

Detectives will also be viewing CCTV footage and a post-mortem will be carried out on Saturday.

If it is the same company they most likely have the same standards, and has seen in pictures they have all the guards needed.

It is a shame that most likely the mechanic didn't use common sense and turn off the power the machine.

I hope to see more information on the incedent in the future.

Is it a Brunswick or AMF or other? Doesn't seem to say

If it's an older bowl it will most probably be AMF. FRom what I know they only have B's in their newer bowl's.

it really is to bad when this happens, I believe that history has struck again. People please take notice and remember saftey first always. I keep telling my b as he always says it was just a second. It seems that is all it takes.

If I was to guess, I would figure an A machine between the table and bin. I suppose it could have been a B machine if the deck hook released. All speculation on my part.

I have no more info than Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, The people I know at Hollywood have gone quiet. Which is obvious really. The last serious accident in the UK was also a Hollywood site. The Chief tech got his head caught inbetween the table and the shuttle, his brain swelled up. He thankfully didnt die. Its quite odd though Hollywood have the most stringent health and safety rules of all the uk companies.j.

This is sad...From reading the article above...it sounds like they are looking into it as a homicide.

If the other guy got his head caught between the table and shuttle that would tell me they have AMF machines.

I heard this at work today and i am not surprised its already on this site. Again i know very little in as much as what has already been said.
