  • New half scale in progress!!!!

    Hello everyone at the fourms!
I am new here and very inspired to build a half scale pinsetter!

I'm at a very early spot in my development
    I have a few questions

    1) How wide should the lane be?
    2) What is the the end ( where the pit is) to the spot where the sweet drops,
    3) How deep should my gutters be?
    4) Can I use mdf for my lanes?

My plan is it being a hybrid...

    Deck ( a-2)
    Pinwheel ( amf& bruswick)
    Carpet ( a-2)
    Distributor ( amf )
    Sweep ( gsx)

Does this sound like a good idea? I would really love to have people supporting me & helping me with ideas since I'm not a huge builder like people I have saw on the fourms..

        1. The lane should be 1/2 of a real lane which is 42". Your lane would therefore be 22" wide.
        2. You can find all the dimensions you need to answer this question here: http://www.6and2bowling.com/newslett...ualaug2003.pdf
        3. Gutter do not need to be that deep but if you want to keep it true 1/2 scale, then the dimensions can be found in the link above.
        4. I would not use MDF as a lane surface. It is very soft and will not hold up over time. It would be suitable for sub-base for something more durable though.

i know things are a bit differnt with the half scale 10 pin lanes but if a real lane is 42inch shouldnt half scale be 21?

My brain is fried from building my 1/2 scale machine. You would be correct. Half of 42 is 21. Thanks for pointing that out.

So 1/6th scale would be 7 inches. I'm still contemplating length. 11 feet is too long. Maybe half that...
