• We've lost a friend

With sadness in my heart, I relay this. Last night Barry Dutcher, better known as DUTCH to Bowltech, passed away.
After work last night, Dutch and his wife, as usual, went to a local casino, had dinner, and were playing slot machines and he dropped. I don't know how, or what happened, he was 42 and in relatively good health.
I'm kind of numb right now, as I just found out. I have worked with him on and off for 5 years and never saw this coming. He was one of the most "Low stress" guys I'd ever met. Even after the remodel at his center took longer than expected, He just moved at his own pace, not worrying about what he couldn' control.
I'm having a hard time writing this, as tears fill my eyes.
Please remember Dutch his wife Terri, son Robert, and daughter Tammi in your prayers.

This is in regards to Dutch. He was my head mechanic here at Greenbrae Lanes, and we will miss him very much. We are going to be holding a benifit here at the lanes in the next few weeks. Any donations that can be raffled away at this benifit would be greatly appreciated He was a great mechanic and great friend. He will be dearly missed.

I didn't know the man personally and only exchanged the briefest of messages with him here. However, the way he conducted himself online was first class and deserving of respect. I'm a little surprised to learn he was that young a man - seemed like he should have been my age anyway if not a little older.

I feel a sense of loss for our online community.

I met Dutch on a trip to Reno a few years back and he was truly a gentleman. Sharing ideas, methods, and tips we've learned in this business were talked about over lunch. God bless his family and those who are affected by this loss.

Barry: I know you're reading this somehow, so here goes. Thank you very much for all of your contributions to us a Bowl-Tech and all you've done for the bowling industry. You will most certainly be missed. Rest now my friend.

Re: We've lost a friend

I just spoke with Dutch's wife Terri. As we tend to do when our friends are down, I asked if there was anything I could do.
She said, "There is one thing you could do for me. Please go to Bowltech and let them know." I told her I already did, and that gave her some comfort.

Wow. I am in shock.

I worked with Dutch over the phone a couple of times. What a man! He would just send whatever anyone needed no questions asked. He had a wealth on knowlege. He will be missed.

Please let us all know what we can do to help.

So sorry to hear this. Was just wondering the other day why Dutch hasn't been posting lately. He was truly a Guru on this site. Never saw him tell anyone that their way of solving a problem was a waste of time. Most likely he would try it and if it worked he would thank you for the idea, and if it didn't you would receive no negative flack. We will miss you DUTCH. So long and GODSPEED!

P.S. Does "donation" also mean monetary help for his family? If so, please send the name and address to
