We are running a tournament on march 3rd. 8 game block with a stepladder for the top 5 qualifiers. It's the first such tournament of this nature we have run in my time here. Needless to say, we want to do this right and encourage repeat participation in future tournaments. We are looking to invest in new tournament software with bracket and sidepot capabilities. Wondering if anyone has recommendations. What will provide best value for the dollar? We understand that you get what you pay for, but we also have to be very cost conscious at this time. Thanks for any recommendations!

TBrac from CDEsoftware is what I use. A one time fee for unlimited use. There are some others out there also but most people around here use this.

I have used it for brackets, pot games and doubles while running running 8 game sweepers. It will do up to 12 games now, keeps track of scratch and handicap at the same it. Brackets can run or start in any game. It does different kinds of brackets also, regular or elinimator style (cuts the field in half) If you get everything setup correct, its a breeze, just enter scores and print.

I forgot to mention, you can download the Tbrac program and it will run in a "demo" mode. That would give you a chance to play with it. But the demo is very limited on entry numbers, it will do everything, just on a small scale.
